Manchester United snub Real Madrid approach for De Gea

Manchester United have rejected a £60m bid from Real Madrid for goalkeeper David De Gea, according to Sky Sports.

The La Liga champions have long been linked with a move for the twenty-six year old, who was born in Madrid and began his career with their city rivals Atleti.

De Gea moved to Old Trafford in the summer of 2011 and has so far racked up two hundred and sixty-nine appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions.

He was part of the squad that won the Premier League in 2013, while he has since collected winners medals in the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the Europa League.

Individually, he has been named in the Premier League PFA Team of the Year in four of the last five seasons while internationally he has been capped twenty times by Spain’s…

Crystal Palace 0-2 Manchester City: Aguero and Torres fire City to the brink of glory

Manchester City could be crowned Premier League champions by the end of this weekend after Sergio Aguero and Ferran Torres secured a 2-0 win at Crystal Palace.

Aguero, City s all-time record goalscorer, will leave the Etihad Stadium when his contract expires next month and has endured a campaign ruined by fitness issues.

But the Argentina striker relocated some of the old magic with a sublime touch and thumping finish to find a 57th-minute breakthrough and his second league goal of the campaign.

There were just 83 seconds between Aguero s opener and Torres calmly taken second, and City will win the title for a third time in four seasons if Liverpool beat Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Palace full-back Tyrick Mitchell made an important block …

Manchester United’s Koulibaly bids rejected?

According to a report from Daily Express, Kalidou Koulibaly’s proposed move to Manchester United has hit a speed bump with the Red Devils supposedly having two bids rejected by Italian side Napoli for the defender. The 27 year old has been turning heads for quite some time now over in Serie A, to the point where a series of top European clubs have showcased their interest in him. Now, though, it’s obvious to see that United are in the driving seat.

Alas, they’ll need to pull out the big guns if they want to secure his signature, with Koulibaly currently being contracted to Napoli until the summer of 2023.

United certainly have the finances necessary to make this deal a reality, but it depends on just how stubborn Napoli are willing to be regarding the eventual pri…

Cardiff City 1 Burnley 2: Profligate hosts slip to fourth successive defeat

Cardiff City were made to rue their wastefulness in front of goal as they slumped to a fourth successive Premier League defeat courtesy of a 2-1 home reverse to Burnley.

Neil Warnock s men came into the match on the back of games against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City, and although there were flashes of promise, they paid the price for their profligacy.

Cardiff were vastly superior in the first period without capitalising and were duly punished after the break when Burnley took the lead through Johann Gudmundsson s header.

The home side kept their focus and deservedly levelled through Josh Murphy at the end of a fine move, but Burnley rallied and ultimately consigned Cardiff to another defeat through Sam Vokes winner 20 minutes from time.

Despite th…

Brentford still hopeful on Eriksen stay amid Man Utd links

Thomas Frank hopes Christian Eriksen will choose to stay at Brentford, with a decision likely to follow from the midfielder in two weeks amid links with Manchester United.

Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest when playing for Denmark against Finland at Euro 2020 last July and was brought back to life on the pitch.

The 30-year-old was not allowed to play for Serie A side Inter on medical grounds as Italy prevent players from competing after having a cardioverter-defibrillator fitted.

Brentford offered the midfielder a six-month contract in January and he subsequently delivered, scoring once and assisting four times in 11 Premier League games to help the Bees maintain their top-flight status.

Eriksen has also created 30 chances since his Brentford debu…

Barcelona and Manchester City far apart in Garcia valuation

Manchester City s Eric Garcia has refused to discuss a new contract with the current one expiring next year, and declared to the club that he wants to leave the Etihad now, manager Pep Guardiola openly confirmed some time ago. The young defender has been heavily linked with Barcelona, where he went through the early youth ranks before joining City s U-18 side in 2017. He was promoted to the first team after the departure of Vincent Kompany, but he s now apparently keen to return to the club where his football journey began.

Barcelona are currently going through a transition phase and planning for the future, and according to , they ve offered the Premier League runners-up a sum of €8 million, plus €2m in potential add-ons for Garcia. They see him as a good candidate to in t…

Cristiano Ronaldo Once Again Proves His Worth On International Stage

There’s no question Cristiano Ronaldo is a consensus Top 2 player in the world right now. In fact, it wouldn’t be a stretch to consider him as one of the Top 10 – or even Top 5, to some – players of all-time. The former Real Madrid and Manchester United star continues to amaze and break records left and right while co-existing with another all-time legend such as Lionel Messi.

However, there’s one area where Ronaldo clearly edges the Argentinian superstar – his performances on the international stage. Even though both Ronaldo and Messi are the respective all-time leading scorers for Portugal and Argentina, CR7 has been far more decisive for the European side in comparison to what Messi has done for La Albiceleste.

While Messi has lost back-to-back Copa Ameri…

Wolves 0-1 Liverpool: Late Origi winner catapults Reds above Chelsea

Divock Origi hit a stoppage-time winner to send Liverpool above Chelsea in the Premier League table as the Reds overcame Wolves 1-0 at Molineux.

A dramatic breakthrough arrived in the fourth added minute when Mohamed Salah raced down the right and pulled the ball back for Origi, who controlled, turned and fired past Jose Sa to decide a game that looked certain to finish goalless.

The Reds, who had scored at least twice in each of their last 18 games, dominated possession and had two particularly presentable chances, but they were mainly handled well by a strong Wolves defence until the late drama.

A determined home side grew into the game, and threatened on occasion, with Adama Traore particularly troubling the Liverpool midfield and backline with his power an…

Messi hails Barcelona´s ´small step towards treble´

Lionel Messi believes Barcelona have taken a small step towards winning the treble after dispatching Manchester United in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Messi scored twice in a 3-0 win at Camp Nou on Tuesday that secured a 4-0 aggregate victory over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer s United.

With a nine-point lead at the top of LaLiga and a Copa del Rey final with Valencia to come, Barca are on track to repeat the treble they last won under Luis Enrique in 2014-15.

And Messi wants the domestic title race to be wrapped up sooner rather than later to boost their chances of conquering on all fronts.

As I said, I m happy for the win, he told Movistar.

We ve taken a small step [towards the treble]. We have to think about LaLiga and try to be champions as s…

Prediction: Hull City vs Sheffield Wednesday

Verdict: Hull City to Qualify

Best Odds:

Bookmaker:

It is up to Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday players to show nerves of steel as they are involved in the game that will see the winner secure around £170 million in revenue over the next couple of years. The Tigers may have finished regular season nine points clear of the opposition, but that will mean nothing when the two sides meet at Wembley on Saturday afternoon.

Hull City

Hull City gave themselves a great chance of returning to the Premier League by keeping hold of most key men from the season that saw them get relegated to the Championship, but the Tigers didn’t exactly play to their potential this term. Granted, they produced some memorable performances at times, but also had their share o…
