I turned down Manchester United to return to Juventus – Bonucci

Leonardo Bonucci has claimed that he turned down a move to Manchester United in order to return home to Juventus during the transfer window.

The Italy centre-back controversially swapped the Serie A champions for AC Milan ahead of the 2017-18 season but completed a move back to Turin after a disappointing campaign at San Siro.

Bonucci – who is likely to face United in the Champions League on Tuesday – has now said that he turned down an approach from Jose Mourinho s side, as well as one from their local rivals Manchester City, before his Juve homecoming.

Asked by The Telegraph if he received an offer from United at the end of last season, the 31-year-old said: Yes.

Ajax duo Frenkie De Jong and Matthijs De Ligt would like to play for Barcelona, according to fellow Netherlands international Jasper Cillessen.

Midfielder De Jong, 21, has been heavily linked with Barca, Tottenham and Manchester City after impressing in his breakout season last term.

Despite being two years younger, defender De Ligt has established himself as a key member of the first team and started their Europa League final defeat to Manchester United in May 2017.

Cillessen believes the pair would be delighted to make the switch to Camp Nou and revealed he has spoken to De Ligt about the club.

Simeone reveals Oblak ´didn´t remember much of what happened´ after slight concussion

Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak could not remember what happened and will be kept under observation after being slightly concussed in Saturday s 1-0 LaLiga win over Athletic Bilbao.

Oblak was taken off in the 69th minute as part of a triple substitution due to an apparent shoulder issue, with his replacement Ivo Grbic making some key late saves at San Mames.
